Shots from Lahainaluna's 10-12 controversial loss to Seabury Hall in a semifinal matchup of the MIL tournament. Seabury came out strong, taking advantage of several Lunas' miscues to take a quick 5-0 lead in the 1st quarter. The Lunas trailed the entire game but battled back, eventually tying the match at 11-11 with 2:32 left in the game and then taking the lead 12-11 with 1:35 left. Then the referees inexplicably halted the game and turned the clock back to 5:09 and the score back to 11-9 in favor of Seabury Hall. For what reason only the refs know. After climbing the mountain and taking the lead, then having the rug pulled from under them, the Lady Lunas could not get over the hump and lost 12-10. The Lady Lunas will play for 3rd place in the tournament today at 9am. However, as Regular Season MIL champion, they already qualify for States. They will play the winner of the tournament at 4pm on Tuesday for the Overall MIL Championship, which will be the higher seed in the HHSAA tournament and, more importantly, will earn the team a Bar on the "L" for graduation.
