The reigning Hawaii D2 State champs made their home debut, a tough test against ILH Division I opponent Kamehameha Schools Kapalama. Under r...oasting conditions at the Imu, the teams went scoreless in the first quarter before KSK struck first to take a 7-0 lead. The Lunas marched to a touchdown on a brilliant catch by Siale Hafoka from Etuati Storer with seconds left in the half to tie it up 7-7 at halftime. After an apparent fumble by KSK at the Lunas' 2 yard line was recovered by the Lunas, the refs ultimately ruled it not a fumble, giving the ball back to KSK who promptly scored to take a 13-7 lead after the kick failed. The Lunas added a field goal to make it 13-10 heading into the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, the Warriors depth and size up front started to take its toll on this hot day and they were able to score 21 unanswered points in quick succession in the 4th quarter to pull away with the win 34-10.
