Shots from the JaDine Revolution concert at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California. I was supposed to start a trial the week of June 5 so I never booked a ticket for this concert when it first went on sale in March or April. Then, when our law firm was able to settle the case and avoid trial, the first thing I did was book my flights to Cali and Vegas and to get tickets to the concerts. Unfortunately, my wife did not have any vacation hours left and was not able to accompany me. Although I was not able to get my customary VIP-level seats in the first few rows (there was no VIP or photo op for this concert), I decided to just rough it and watch and enjoy the concert from the cheap seats way in the back. I was able to get a "front row" middle seat in Section B Center, unobstructed with lots of leg room, right behind the pit for the audio and video guys. Although I would not be able to get my usual close-up shots from down below stage level, I was glad to experience a different view - hopefully get shots of all of the performers on stage at once with the background. I also debuted my Sony A6300 mirrorless camera with a Commlite converter to accommodate my Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. I wanted to see what kind of photos I could get shooting 8-11 fps on a silent shutter. All in all, I think my Nikon DSLR focuses better and faster, but considering I was using a non-native lens, shooting in the dark at a target far far away, I came away with a lot of keepers. Next time though I will shoot a larger file size since I had to crop a lot. Although I had a good seat to see the entire concert, I still think the best place to experience a JaDine concert is in the first several rows - the Pit - with all the other crazy, diehard JaDine fans and fan clubs. The back row crowd just couldn't quite get into it like the front of the house did. And of course, when JaDine make their rounds shaking the hands of those up near the stage - I missed being in the middle of all of that JaDine Love lol. Anyways, I enjoyed their performance and knew that I would be more up close and personal the following day, where I would get to shoot the JaDine Fan Event in Las Vegas.
