Blast from the Past! This was from my Van Gogh Impressionist period where all my shots had blur and were not sharp at all due to inadequate shutter speed as a result of very slow lenses. This was before I learned to shoot manual (shutter/aperture/ISO) and before I shot down on the field (the only place to shoot football IMHO), I tried my hand at shooting football from the stands with my then-brand new NIkon D50 and kit 70-300mm lens. As you can see, the results were CRAP and have never seen the light of day ... until today. With COVID-19 shutting down sports, I went into the Vault to unearth some games I shot before I got the game-changer: a Nikon D90 and a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 lens.
For this game, I was actually there to shoot my nephew Evan who was on the Lunas' Homecoming Court and decided to try some action shots. Most of these shots were shot on Sports Mode, and AF-A (all WRONG lol)... shutter speed barely made it over 1/60 ... but I got some interesting panning shots lol.
BTW St. Anthony had some sweet uniforms - almost Notre Dame-ish! They need to somehow get their enrollment up and back into the MIL sporting scene. It's a shame because St. Anthony does have a pretty rich sports history.
