In a rematch of last year's HHSAA 3rd place game, the Lady Lunas came away with a 50-42 victory against Kamehameha Schools Kapalama on the final day of the McKinley Black & Gold Girls Basketball Tournament. The Lunas were relieved to register a win after losses to Iolani and Maryknoll earlier in the tournament. The Lunas' press wreaked havoc in the Warrior backcourt all game, making it difficult for the Warriors to inbound the ball and get their offense set up. Braeanna Estabillo led the Lunas with 20 points, followed by Rachael Balagso with 10 and Erin Hookano with 8. Estabillo and Balagso were also credited with a combined 11 steals. The Lunas were down 34-36 at the beginning of the 4th quarter but went on a 9-0 to open up the game 43-36, capped by a high-arcing three pointer by Tori Tihada..
