After the graduation ceremony, the night was just beginning for these Lahainaluna seniors and numerous chaperones partook in Project Graduation. The seniors gathered at Hale Pa'ina where they were entertained by Lahainaluna's own (c/o 89) Kaleo Phillips and fed by Lahainaluna alum Casey Smythe of Teppanyaki2Go. The volunteers who hiked to the "L" to light it for graduation also gathered for a well-deserved meal prepared by the school cafeteria. The seniors then boarded busses to their Top Secret destinations to enjoy one final SAFE night together. First stop - Maui Mini Golf and water park at Maalaea. Second stop - the sweltering, dank dark humid basement of Fleetwood's on Front Street, where they were entertained by Maoli (correct me if I'm wrong) and Da Braddah (only had one lol). Finally, the seniors went to Slappy Cakes before returning to the cafeteria to be released to their parents. Mahalo to all the people who made this happen, the Lahainaluna PTSA, the chaperones, the vendors, the businesses and especially the well-behaved Class of 2018 who all made this a successful and memorable event. Till next year! Apologies again for out of focus/blurry photos - hard to get the autofocus going in dark places hehe
