Picked up the Nissan Rogue from Avis Preferred at EWR.
Headed down to Philadelphia.
Stopped at Walmart to pick up beverages and a basketball.
Made a detour and stopped at 9th and Passyunk Avenue – site of the famous Geno’s Steaks and Pat’s King of Steaks.
Shoot hoops at the basketball court on the corner.
Checked into the Courtyard at Marriott Philadelphia South at Navy Yard.
Split the cheesesteaks.
Pat’s cheesesteak was the winner.
Walked to the game – no sidewalk.
One hour before tip off and people still in line to get in.
Only season ticket-holders can get in early.
Nervously, I see people with backpacks and DSLR cameras heading for the locker.
I realize our tickets have Cadillac Grille Access, which is just as good as VIP.
We head to the short line, but I get turned away due to my camera. Oh well.
The locker is only $5 so I don’t have to walk all the way back to the hotel. All I bring with me is my wallet and cell phone.
Shop at the Team Shop on Broad Street. Some nice shirts but expensive at $39.
Walk around. Get to our seats. Section 103, Row 9, Seats 16-17 (aisle!) Free Phila Unite t-shirts
Great view, close to the corner.
Great game, 76ers win by convincing fashion. Kawhi Leonard is one mean hombre. But Joel Embiid is too much.
Not that cold after the game even though 10:30pm. Get my camera from the locker and walk back to the hotel.
Nothing open at the hotel. Check google. Chickie’s and Peete’s?
Get there, seated right away. Nice big restaurant with big screen TV’s all over. Reminds me of Buffalo Wild Wings
Split a swiss mushroom burger. Clams with white wine sauce and Mussels with red sauce. Chickie fries with cheese sauce. All great!
Blazers-Nuggets on TV. Fell asleep on couch. 3 OT
