Action from Lahainaluna's 35-0 win over Roosevelt to advance to the D2 championship game next Friday. It was the final home game for the 2019 season. The hard-hitting Lunas took advantage of 5 Roosevelt fumbles, scoring TD's on 4 ensuing drives (the 5th culminated in a missed FG). The Lunas only led 7-0 with under 5 minutes in the second quarter. After the missed FG, Roosevelt started an impressive drive which included some long runs but a costly fumble and the end of one such long run ended the Rough Rider threat. The Lunas countered with a long bomb from Kalae Storer to a streaking Kai Bookland for a 52 yard TD with 59 seconds left. After yet another fumble on Roosevelt's next play from scrimmage, the Lunas wasted no time in striking again, this time Storer connecting with Bookland on a 28-yard pass. Roosevelt's defender was there step-by-step with Bookland, but he was able to come away with the catch. In the third quarter, with the wind at their backs, the Lunas struck again with Storer hitting Brian Sandoval in the end zone with a TD pass from 18 yards out. To cap of the scoring, Storer connected with Devon Sa-Chisholm over the middle for a 59 yard TD. With the score 35-0, the running clock started and the Lunas began inserting their reserves.
