During the HHSAA Division 1 football quarterfinal game between Lahainaluna and Aiea at Sue D. Cooley Stadium, Lahainaluna expressed its gratitude towards the first responders who worked courageously and tirelessly to protect their campus and Lahaina town from the Kauaula Valley wildfire that started around noon on Election Day, November 8, 2022. At halftime, members of Lahainaluna's student body performed O Kou Aloha for the Maui Fire Department crew stationed in Lahaina.
