Shots of Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference semifinal matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia PA. The game was close until the final minute, when the Raptors pulled away for a 96-101 win thanks to Kawhi Leonard, who had 39 points, 14 rebounds and 7 turnovers. Jimmy Butler continued to be the only consistently reliable 76er with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Simmons was invisible with 10 points. Embiid was futless and passive on the offensive end, finishing with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists on 2-7 shooting. Despite that, he was +17. Turns out, he tried to call in sick. WTF?
Heavy traffic entering Philadelphia. Listen to 97.5 the FAN atic. Crazy traffic situation – Broad Street Run in the morning, Phillies game at 2pm and Sixers game at 3:30pm. Lucked out. Got there at 2pm and found parking real close to the arena. Photo op in front of the Wilt Chamberlain statute. No time to find the Dr. J statute. Entered via the Cadillac Grille access. Returned shirt at the 76er store. Shopped at the bigger New Era store. Got a Stub Hub ticket souvenir. Grabbed a pizza, hot dog and souvenir soda. Settled in our seats - Section 106, Row 10, Seats 1-2 (aisle!) Great seats again! Free rally towels.
Ate my hot dog and some pizza – first meal of the day. Not as motivated to take pictures – so tired from driving. Surprise! Shane Victorino rung the Liberty Bell! Dr. J in the house! Game was good, but not the same energy in the building as on Thursday. Embiid looked futless – turns out he was sick. Game was tied with under 2 minutes left, but no answers for Kawhi Leonard. Fight in the stands (in our former seats no less) between Toronto clad jihadists and a fat white guy in a Julius Erving jersey. Bought a #1 foam finger on the way out.
Pouring rain outside at 600pm. But I gotta get my photo with Dr. J statue. Last thing on my bucket list. Luckily it was the first statute at the Xfinity building.
