The Lady Lunas battled back - overcoming a 1-2 deficit and a 2-4 deficit - to beat previously undefeated Baldwin in the MIL Softball Tournament championship game. Seraya Casco pitched a heckuva game. With the score tied 4-4 going into the 8th inning and two runners on, freshman catcher Brianne Keohuloa had an epic at-bat, running the count full and fouling off ball after ball over the fence down the third base line. In real time, from my first photo of the at-bat to my last, her at-bat lasted almost SIX MINUTES. The extended at-bat also served the purpose of extending the pitch-count of Baldwin's ace Aliya Harmon. Someone had to give. In this case, Keohuloa finally got her swing timed right and hit a ball hard into fair territory - a double to score two runs and give the Lunas a 6-4 lead. Casco finished strong in the bottom of the eighth to secure the win, which forced a winner-take-all MIL championship game that was played a few days later on May 1, which the Lunas won.
